YingYu Chen is the visionary behind The Herestory Institute, where she empowers children to develop critical life skills and creative problem-solving abilities through interactive design thinking workshops, with a focus on cultural awareness and real-world application.
As an educator, naturalist, and mother, she transforms everyday moments into opportunities to cultivate essential life skills, empowering children to grow confidently and connect knowledge to meaningful life experiences.
YingYu’s approach is equal parts practical and inspiring. With a flair for storytelling and learning experience design, she creates theme-based adventures that spark curiosity, resilience, and cultural awareness.
A trusted ally to parents seeking culturally responsive and creative ways to support their children, she built up The Herestory Institute and has reached over 2,000 students across the US and around the globe.
